Early years' education in Skelton-on-Ure
Daily contact with nature across our grounds and local woodland.
The Woodland School ethos is providing daily opportunities for meaningful contact with nature – come rain or shine.
Outdoor learning builds resilience, confidence, curiosity and a deep connection with the natural world, through investigating, risk-taking, climbing, balancing and observing wildlife.
Our daily curriculum includes walks to the church, local woodland and the village play park, where children gather natural resources for crafts and seasonal projects. Montessori and our woodland curriculum pair beautifully, sharing the same core values of learning through real experience, independence and connection with the environment.
